43. And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God.Luke 9:43. Jesus is coming down from the mountain where He showed a few disciples His glory. A huge crowd has gathered, and a father cries to Jesus to please heal his son, for a spirit has overcome him, and the disciples could do nothing. This reveals the limitations of mankind. At that moment, the spirit attacks the child violently. Jesus rebuked the spirit, and the child was healed, spiritually and physically. The crowd is amazed at God's power; this is a sign of Jesus's divine authority, pointing to His greater mission of salvation. The lessons to be learned:Jesus cares when people are hurting and responds with compassion. Jesus is not limited in power; we have no power without faith. Believing in Jesus' authority is necessary to experience His power. Like the father, we, too, can bring our problems to Jesus, yet faith is needed when the situation seems impossible. Trust in Jesus brings healing, hope, and restoration, not just for the individual. Jesus's authority over evil displays power over every human need and the limitations of mankind. Jesus Christ is available to all this day. Amen.
