“Sallie” is immortalized on the 11th PA monument at Gettysburg. Legend has it that she went into battle with her troops and stayed with wounded soldiers on the field at Gettysburg. She was KIA at Hatcher’s Run in 1865. Visitors often leave dog biscuits.
