In Ireland, armed citizen groups are forming to target those seen as “enablers” of the so-called Islamic invasion. Thoughts?"Security sources and recent reports confirm that up to ten domestic terror groups are currently operating in Ireland, including far-right organizations like the Irish Citizen Army Rebirth and the New Republican Movement that have issued explicit threats against Muslims, IPAS centres, and government officials.  These groups, some of which are led by or include recent immigrants from Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Romania, are being investigated by the Garda Special Detective Unit for plotting attacks on "military-aged male migrants" and threatening national security. The landscape of extremism in Ireland has shifted from disorganized incidents to more structured, organized networks that utilize social media algorithms to radicalize members and coordinate actions, prompting Taoiseach Micheál Martin to describe the situation as a "considerable degree of concern" and a direct threat to society.  This rise in right-wing extremism coincides with a separate but significant threat from Islamist-inspired groups, creating a complex security environment where both jihadist and far-right ideologies are driving violent plots, including the recent Abdullah Khan knife attack and plots to bomb mosques. While some far-right activists online attempt to distance themselves from violent splinter groups, the Gardaí are treating these emerging cells very seriously as they evolve from fringe protest groups into potential domestic terror threats.  The government and security agencies are increasingly focused on the role of online algorithms in promoting hateful content, with public polls showing 68% of people calling for these recommender systems to be switched off by default to prevent the spread of radicalization."
