On top of that, they received airport escorts, VIP red coat assistance, and could skip TSA security lines at airports across the country. Most of these perks were not widely known to the public.Delta suspended the VIP services on March 24, 2026, after the DHS shutdown left TSA workers unpaid for over a month. The Senate had already voted unanimously to end the TSA line-skipping perk days earlier. Over 480 TSA agents have quit, wait times have exceeded four hours at major airports, and airline executives wrote to Congress saying workers cannot put food on the table when they are not being paid.Lawmakers will now be treated like regular Delta passengers based on their SkyMiles status."
