21. Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,Luke 3:21. John is baptizing and explaining to the people that he is not the Messiah, but Jesus is coming, who will baptize with the Holy Ghost and with fire. Unlike John, Jesus has the divine authority and power to bring spiritual change to the inner man. The Holy Ghost brings this transformation, daily changing us into the image of Jesus, through guidance, courage, and power to live for God. John's ministry is ending, and as Jesus is baptized, not for sin, but being obedient, the heaven opens, and Almighty God speaks, affirming that Jesus is His Son, and He is pleased. This is the beginning of Jesus's ministry. John prepared the way; Jesus comes to work a deeper spiritual work through the Holy Ghost. Almighty God publicly endorses Jesus as the Messiah, signaling Jesus's mission to redeem and transform humanity. Amen.
