THE ACCOUNT
Romans 14:10-12
“But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
Have you ever wondered what this day is going to be like?
How will it begin?
Who will start the conversation that leads to us giving account of ourself?
Will God ask, “What do you have to say for yourself?”
How detailed will we have to be?
Will God remind us of anything we “forget”?
Will others be watching or will it be a time of me and God alone?
I do not think it will be too difficult to bow the knee. He is LORD, and at this moment who else would you even think about bowing the knee to. But when the confessing begins, what will you and I have to say for ourselves?
Are you ready for this day?
The timing of this day, of when it will actually take place is in question. Some believe it will take place immediately after the rapture of the church. I personally do not think the timing is as important as just the mere fact that it will take place. The fact that the Judgment Seat of Christ will take place should be the cause of the Christian to give serious thought of who we are, who we represent, and what we are doing.
