Erica Pan was hand-picked by Gavin Newsom to run California’s Department of Public Health, and under her leadership the number of hospice centers in LA County has exploded to nearly 2,000.That’s about thirty times more than what you see in New York or Florida combined.It’s the kind of number that raises a lot of eyebrows and has people asking how something like this grew so fast with so little oversight. The whole situation is starting to smell like another layer of waste in the state.
