46: And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,Luke 1:46. After receiving the news from the angel Gabriel that she would give birth to Jesus, Mary traveled quickly to her cousin Elizabeth with this news. Elizabeth was carrying John the Baptist in her womb for 6 months, and as soon as Mary greeted her, John leaped for joy in her womb. This was the first human to rejoice in Jesus. In this instant, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost and acknowledged that Mary was going to give birth to the Lord Jesus. Mary responded, "My soul doth magnify the Lord." The lesson: immediate obedience is faith in action. Faith and the Holy Ghost will cause you to recognize Jesus as Savior. What we receive from God is meant to be shared with family and friends; sharing God's love brings joy in service. Amen.
