A meteor was reported over North Carolina this morning, with a massive boom heard across the state and into neighboring areas. Thousands reported seeing a bright fireball streak across the sky. Officials say the object was approximately 6 feet wide, with most of it burning up in the atmosphere as it broke apart. Only fragments are believed to have reached the ground.
