6. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.Psalm 75:6. This song, contained in 10 verses, is filled with wisdom, knowledge, and instructions. The song speaks of the Righteous Judge, who exalts, lifts up, and also brings low, cast down. The Righteous Judge is manifested in the person of Jesus Christ. Christ is the perfect Judge, who, without sin, will be upright in truth and justice. We come to our verse, the word "promotion," found only once in Psalm 75:6, meaning to be uplifted or exalted, and again in Proverbs 3:35, meaning to be rotten, cast down. Two-thirds of promotion is motion. You are responsible for the direction you travel. And the Righteous Judge, all-seeing, will dictate if you are lifted up or cast down. The followers of Christ are cast down in this world, while the ungodly lift themselves up on high. The humble shall be lifted where no human can go, and the prideful shall be cast into destruction. Be careful if the going gets easy; you might be going downhill. The last verse speaks of the strength of the wicked being cut off, but the righteous shall be lifted up and rewarded by the eternal Judge. Amen.
