The F/A-18F Super Hornet is being gradually replaced by newer aircraft, particularly the F-35C, but it will continue to serve until sixth-generation fighters are ready. The Super Hornet remains a key part of the U.S. Navy's fleet until these advanced replacements are fully operational.
