«Aniva Lighthouse» — abandoned lighthouse on Cape Aniva on Sakhalin Island, on the Sivuchya rock.
History: built by the Japanese in 1939 according to the design of engineer Shinobu Miura. The lighthouse consisted of a round concrete tower with a small side extension inscribed in an oval base. The tower had 9 floors.
Some features:
🤍The basement level contained diesel and battery.
🤍The first floor with an extension was occupied by a kitchen and a food warehouse, the second — radio room, control room and watch room.
On the third, fourth and fifth floors of the tower there were living rooms designed for 12 people.
🤍In the central part of the tower there was a pipe, inside of which a pendulum was suspended — a weight weighing 270 kilograms, wound every three hours to move the optical system.
🤍The range of the lighthouse was 32.4 km.
