40. For he that is not against us is on our part.Mark 9:40. Jesus was preaching in Capernaum when John came to Him, saying they saw someone casting out devils in His name, but he didn't follow with the disciples or the seventy that Christ sent out to heal the sick and cast out demons. John's concern was that they had failed to cast out a devil. Mark 9:18, where Christ said, "this kind comes out only with prayer and fasting." Christ says, "Forbid him not, for no one can do a miracle in My Name and not be associated with Me." We come to the daily verse, which means, "who is not against us, is for us." There are many religious organizations that say they are for Christ; there are many divisions among the churches, which say they are the correct ones. You can tell the good from the bad when they change God's word and His commandments. And those not walking in Christ's footsteps will fail to do what the Gospel says Christ gave them authority to do. There are no perfect people, only a perfect loving Savior. Who gave His life in our place so we could be with Him. Amen.
