35. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. Proverb 3:35. The wise are such, being not of this world, but in a spiritual sense, are wise unto salvation. Who know their condition, as sinful, their inability to do all that is good. Who seek to be justified by Christ. They are aware of their spiritual poverty, the sickness and the disease of their soul. Having great ignorance in respect to things of a spiritual nature. Who seeking Christ, and Him crucified, find the way to peace, pardon, righteousness, and salvation. Resting in Him as their foundation, and Him alone. And having this knowledge of the Gospel message, give all the glory to Christ the Savior of the world. Holding fast to the profession of their faith in Christ Jesus. Now these shall inherit glory, not the glory of this world, or the honor of men. This incomparable glory, is the eternal glory which Christ, Himself entered into, which the Father has given Him. This glory Christ bestows on the souls and bodies of the children of God. Not by purchase or acquisition, but as a free gift, and they will possess it for eternity. In opposition to the glory the fools promotion shall be shame and confusion. In the next life, their inheritance shall be tribulation. Amen.
