I kept thinking yesterday about how Iran—ancient Persia—has been under the oppressive Islamic regime since 1979. 47 years. I knew the number wasn’t random, and it wasn’t coincidence that President Trump is the 47th president with Persia once again at the center of everything happening in the world. I just couldn’t put my finger on why. Then it clicked this morning when I saw a post by Marcus Rogers. Isaiah 45 is the chapter where God calls Cyrus—a pagan political leader He anoints to break open gates and shift history for the sake of His people.Not a pastor.Not a prophet.A ruler — positioned at a moment that moved Jerusalem back onto the world stage and confronted global power structures.Trump was the 45th president, and I’ve known is very clearly is a modern day Cyrus. But I had forgotten one key fact: Cyrus was King of Persia. God is not random. And what is happening in the world today is not random either. None of it has caught Him by surprise. Keep praying for our leaders! They are being used incredibly by God right now. What a time to be alive!
