47. And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on land.Mark 6:47. Jesus had just fed 5,000 men with 5 loaves and 2 small fish. Jesus had sent the disciples away in a boat to Bethsaida, as He went into the mountain to pray. Jesus saw the disciples rowing against the wind with great difficulty. Jesus came to them walking on the water; when they saw Him, they were terrified, thinking it was a ghost. Jesus said, "Be not afraid, it is I." The disciples were amazed that as Jesus got in the boat, the wind and waves were calmed. The disciples, having witnessed previous miracles, had still not grasped who Jesus really was. Jesus's power over food, nature, and natural laws shows His divinity as the Son of God. Jesus calmed the storm for His disciples, showing He came to help them personally. Jesus will calm your storms, and He is with us always. Faith conquers fear, teaching that Jesus provides peace even in the storms of life. Amen.
