The Ten Virgins
The Lord Jesus Himself does make a clear split between two groups of Christians: ten virgins were awaiting the arrival of the bridegroom. Those ten virgins are the image of today's Christians who believe in Jesus Christ.
They know they are living in the last days, but everyday life puts "other priorities" for many. The five foolish virgins will see it when the time comes and they hope for the best. When the last trumpet sounds, there is suddenly no time left to get new oil and the door closes.
This category of Christians is not spared and will have to wash their clothes in the blood of the Lamb and they will still have to choose very explicitly between their faith in Jesus Christ and the world. Or are you like the five wise virgins who were not only full of expectation but also seriously prepared and who took their task seriously? Then God hath not appointed thee to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
