3. Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:Mark 4:3. Jesus teaches the people with stories, and this one is about a farmer planting seeds. Some fell by the side of the field, and the birds ate them up. Some fell on ground with a lot of rocks, and sprang up but died because, having no roots, the sun withered them. Some fell into thorns, and grew up in the thorns, but were choked by them, and never matured. Some fell on good ground, sprang up, and did yield an increase. Jesus is the farmer, planting God's word, and He has nothing but good seeds. The ground is your heart. Satan will steal the word from it; affliction or persecution will offend it.Riches, lust, and things of this world will choke the word, and it will be unfruitful. But those who seek Jesus and fill their heart with His word, having received it, will bring an increase to God's kingdom. Jesus only has good seeds; it's the ground it falls on that is responsible for how much is produced. Some seed produced thirty times as much, some sixty times, some a hundred times. How good is the ground in your heart? Amen.
