1. The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;Mark 1:1. Mark started the gospel with the truth: there is no other good news, only that Jesus has come to remove sin and death from mankind. John the Baptist prepared a straight path of repentance, before Christ. But it is Christ's blood that removes the stain of sin. And with the stain being removed, there is no punishment for those declared innocent by the blood of Christ Jesus. John baptized with water; Christ baptized with the Holy Ghost. John baptized Christ, and a voice came from heaven, saying, "Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." This is the testimony of Jesus: that He pleased the Father, and we please the Father when we believe and trust that Jesus is the Son of the Living God. Amen.
