6. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.Matthew 28:6. Christ's resurrection, this being the first day of the week, the women who followed Jesus came to His sepulcher. And an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and rolled away the stone sealing the entrance. The angel tells the women, "Fear not, I know you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen." The Bible has examples of people resuscitated: the widow's son, 1 Kings 17:17-24, and Lazarus, John 11:38-44. These faced death again in the same body. Jesus was resurrected, not the first to be brought back from death, but the first raised from death never to experience it again. Our verse today is our hope in Christ. Death had no power over Jesus because He defeated death and Satan at the Cross. All followers of Jesus will rise from death with a body fit for eternity. And where Jesus is, we will be also. Today Jesus is alive in heaven and continues to reign as a resurrected man, still fully God and fully man. Amen.
