2. Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.Matthew 26:2. Jesus has finished teaching. He has warned the disciples and the multitude about the religious leaders and not to follow their ways. Now He shares with His disciples His coming arrest by betrayal, His suffering, and death. This is the fulfillment of Christ's ministry on Earth. His sacrifice will complete God's plan for redemption for humanity. Christ is obedient to the Father's will, even in the face of betrayal and suffering. Christ mentioned Passover, as the lamb was sacrificed and the blood placed on the doorpost. The angel of death did not look into the house to see who was worthy; the blood had paid the price. We all have sinned, and Christ has paid our debt, with His blood. Christ did not look to see who was worthy of His sacrifice, for there was none. But by the grace of God, through the Holy Ghost, some of us have been drawn to the saving blood of Christ. None who are covered in His righteousness will be disappointed. Christ, the Son of the Living God, is the perfect Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of this world. Amen.
