BUSTER BROWN CAROUSEL ... A recent post of a six figure kiddie pedal carousel prompted this short story. After WW II my father opened a workingman's store store in Pittsfield MA (my hometown) and named it Jim's for infant me. Over the year's the store became a shoe store only and was the only distributor of Buster Brown shoes for children located in the city. Of course as a promotion the store had a Buster Brown Carousel. The store operated in the family for over seven decades, closing a few years ago with the retirement of a cousin. My only inheritance of the business was the Buster Brown Carousel that three to four generations loved. It will be a gift someday to a local museum for display of local businesses. Here are pictures of all four "steeds ."
