During an interview MS NOW’s Eugene Daniels asked New York Attorney General Letitia James about fighting the Trump administration’s tactics:DANIELS: “Last question for you. You talked about the folks that want to monitor it. Alex was one of those people in Minnesota. When you look at what the administration has done from the very beginning, which is lie about what Alex was doing before he was killed, one what do you think that does to the rule of law? And two, it feels like it makes it harder for AGs like you to fight the administration’s tactics because they’re using a rulebook that is not in print for anybody else but themselves.”JAMES: “So Mr. Pretti and Miss Good. It’s important, first, that we say their names, all of the democratic attorneys general, we meet on a regular basis. We make sure that we feed off of one another. And so we stand today with Minnesota. But we stood with California. We stood with D.C. we stood with Maine. We recognize similar conduct that is happening from state to state to state, but it’s important that individuals understand that it’s only happening in blue states and Democratic states. And we also it’s important that individuals know that a lot of these executive orders only apply to blue states. But what we are seeing now is that these executive orders are now also applying to all states, like, for instance, right now we’re going to run out of TANF funding, public assistance funding, which will affect all 50 states. So it’s really critically important that individuals understand that democratic attorneys general are the front line of defense. And we have been defending the rule of law and defending democracy, and we have been winning. But it’s important that individuals get out and make sure their voices are heard and file grievances with their government.”Source: MS NOW/Grabien
