ON HER 24TH BIRTHDAY, RACHAEL ANDERSON WAS MURDERED.Anthony Pardon forced his way into her apartment, restrained her, sexually assaulted her, beat her, strangled her, and stabbed her more than 50 times with a steak knife.He was not a first-time offender.His record already included:• A conviction for raping a 9-month-old infant• Convictions for aggravated robbery, additional sexual assaults, and attempted murder• Registered sex offender status with GPS monitoring• A history as a repeat violent offenderDespite all of that, he had been released.And shortly after, Rachael paid the price.Judges and decision-makers who allow violent repeat offenders like this back onto the streets should be held accountable for the consequences.RIP Rachael Anderson.This happened in 2018 — but it should have never happened in the first place.
