Marine veteran and pastor Michael Ryan Burke lost his life during a robbery at his Columbia, Missouri home over a Facebook Marketplace sale. Despite fatal wounds, he called 911 with suspect details and sent a final text to his mother and sister: “I’m dying and I love you.” Three 18-year-olds and one juvenile now face second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and burglary charges.Burke achieved remarkable impact. A University of Missouri graduate with degrees in psychology and sociology, he served as a decorated U.S. Marine combat veteran. As a pastor and humanitarian, he led missionary work in poor regions worldwide, fueled by faith and compassion. He also battled human trafficking.Prayers go out to his family and friends.
