9. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Matthew 15:9.
Jesus is now confronted by the Pharisees from Jerusalem, accusing His disciples of breaking the traditions of the religious leaders, who prioritized human traditions over God's commandments.
Jesus calls them hypocrites, pretending, two-faced.
Saying with their mouth, they draw near, with their lips they praise Him, but their hearts are far from Him.
Jesus gave everything He had in this world, for us.
We should be honest, true, faithful, in our relationship with Christ.
Anything less than 100% of the heart will never see the full power of the love of Christ, seeing we value things, placing things with no eternal value in between Christ and us, taking our eyes off the King of Glory, for treasures that will fade in time.
We are either all in for Christ or we are simply out.
Half measures do not reap the reward.
What a privilege we have been given the words of Christ, the record of His unfailing love for us, and many find it a burden to open it up and find what He has to say, what He has planned, how He will protect us, and reward us. Amen.
