14. And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.Exodus 3:14. Moses sees a burning bush and goes to see why the bush is not consumed. God speaks from the bush, telling Moses to take off his shoes because the ground is holy. God tells Moses that the time for Israel's deliverance from Egypt has come. "Go tell the people." Moses asks God, "Who do I say sent me?"The answer: "I AM has sent you." This translates to "The Self-Existent One has sent you."God has no equal, no dependence on anyone or anything to exist. From everlasting to everlasting, God exists. Jesus clearly identifies with the voice from the burning bush. John 8:24: "For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins." John 8:28: "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM." John 8:58: "I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." John 18:4-5: "Whom seek ye? They said, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus said, I am he." I AM, Jesus, becomes whatever we lack. If we are in darkness, He becomes the Light. If we are hungry, He is the Bread of Life. If we are defenseless, He is the Good Shepherd.Jesus becomes what we need. Amen.
