**Three Venezuelan nationals illegally in the country ambushed an ICE agent** during a routine traffic stop in Minneapolis on January 14, 2026, showing once again the real-world consequences of wide-open borders. Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, already wanted by ICE with prior arrests for driving without a license and using false identities, led the attack after fleeing and crashing. Two other illegals who entered under the previous administration—Alfredo Alejandro Ajorna and Gabriel Alejandro Hernandez-Ledezma—joined in, assaulting the officer with a snow shovel and broom handle.The agent, outnumbered three-to-one and fearing for his life, fired in self-defense, hitting Sosa-Celis in the leg. All three suspects barricaded themselves before being taken into custody and now face serious federal charges. This was the second ICE-related shooting in the city in just days.Sanctuary policies that shield criminal aliens and refuse cooperation with federal immigration enforcement continue to put American law enforcement officers in unnecessary danger.
