Odd, he doesn't even mention the Bible.
In 1962, the magazine The Christian Century posed a question to C.S. Lewis: “What books did most to shape your vocational attitude and your philosophy of life?”
Lewis came up with a list of ten works, ranging from epic poetry to deep theological explorations.
Here's his list:
1. The Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius
2. Theism and Humanism, Arthur Balfour
3. Descent into Hell, Charles Williams
4. The Life of Samuel Johnson, James Boswell
5. The Idea of the Holy, Rudolf Otto
6. The Everlasting Man, G.K. Chesterton
7. The Prelude, William Wordsworth
8. The Temple, George Herbert
9. The Aeneid, Virgil
10. Phantastes, George MacDonald
