Trump's renewed talk about potentially taking control of Greenland has triggered European NATO allies to send military detachments to the island. In response to all of this, Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk said any attempt by one NATO member to seize territory from another would bring the potential "end of the world as we know it" scenario that would shatter alliance solidarity. As we've long spoken about, this goes along with larger shifts in how our world functions that have been inching closer to major change for ovr a decade now.Several countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands, have deployed small military units to Greenland in response. European officials are emphasizing respect for Greenland's sovereignty and the established international order, but the fact that they're moving actual military assets reveals how seriously they're taking Trump's words. There are always many ulterior motives going on behind the scenes about global events, and they can be difficult to make sense of. But in another sense, whether this is posturing, negotiation tactics, or something more serious, it's forcing questions about what happens when the frameworks that maintained relative stability in Western countries for decades start breaking down.
