Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:32. These are the words of Jesus. He is preparing His disciples, warning that choosing Christ may not be easy, as it comes with sacrifices, struggles, and hardship. But through it all, a reward is promised to the faithful. There are no secret agents called by Christ. What is confessed with the mouth must be proven in action. We will never suffer like Christ. Yet we must be willing to pick up His cross, meaning we surrender everything to Jesus, denying ourselves and making sacrifices, putting to death our old nature. This type of life signifies a willingness to trust God's plan and purposes, even in the face of adversity and suffering. Adversity is an opportunity for God to display His Almighty power. Everything done for Christ will be remembered and rewarded in His kingdom. Amen.
