IRAN IS JAILING CHRISTIANS AS “ZIONIST AGENTS”
While the world is watching Iran’s protests, a quieter horror is unfolding. Dozens of Christian converts are being sentenced to years in prison simply for praying, worshipping at home, or owning a Bible.
Recent cases show how far the regime is going:
• Nayereh Arjaneh began a five-year sentence after attending a Christian seminar in Turkey. She was accused of supporting “Zionist Christianity” and endured psychological torture and death threats in detention.
• Her husband Qasem Esmaili faces prison too, even while battling cancer.
• Brothers Mahmoud and Mansour Mardani-Kharaji were each given four years for attending a Christmas gathering.
• Aida Najaflou received a 17-year sentence for house-church activity and was injured so badly in prison she temporarily lost mobility.
In 2025 alone, Iran sentenced 96 Christians to more than 263 years combined. Their “crime” is leaving Islam and choosing Jesus.
Iran calls them “Zionist agents.”
Human rights groups call it what it is: religious persecution.
And yet Iran still sits on global human-rights bodies lecturing the world about justice.
Freedom of faith is a basic human right.
In Iran today, it is a prison sentence.
