Trump attacked 5 Republican senators who sided with Democrats on a largely symbolic vote to curb the president from using military force against Venezuela.Trump's full statement: "Republicans should be ashamed of the Senators that just voted with Democrats in attempting to take away our Powers to fight and defend the United States of America. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul, Josh Hawley, and Todd Young should never be elected to office again. This Vote greatly hampers American Self Defense and National Security, impeding the President’s Authority as Commander in Chief. In any event, and despite their “stupidity,” the War Powers Act is Unconstitutional, totally violating Article II of the Constitution, as all Presidents, and their Departments of Justice, have determined before me. Nevertheless, a more important Senate Vote will be taking place next week on this very subject."The reason why this kind of thing works is Trump knows if he simply says something, many of his followers will believe him, repeat what he says, and act on it, even if it's not a good idea. In fact, most high level politicians operate this way as it's a powerful way to build narrative.

That last paragraph bugs me.
My thought is that the reason it works, is he's absolutely right.
The article 2 powers are all he needs to do just what he did.
To take those powers away is, at least today, UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Rand Paul and Hawley have gone over to the dark side. Full fledged RINOs. The others were never GOP!
