RIP. Massachusetts Police Officer Stephen LaPorta was struck and killed while assisting a disabled motorist. Police Officer LaPorta was standing in freezing rain, helping a disabled motorist on the side of the road, when a tractor-trailer struck and killed him. Officer LaPorta, 43, fulfilled his dream of serving on patrol with the Uxbridge Police Department, where he worked for over one year after previously serving as a dispatcher for the department. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
