33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 Jesus continues His instructions, saying, "Do not seek to store things up in this world, because nothing in this world will last." Seek eternal treasures; they will not rust or rot, and no person can rob you of them. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be. You cannot store treasure in heaven and in the world at the same time. Jesus is speaking of the ungodly who worry about where their food, clothing, and shelter will come from. Jesus says the Father in heaven knows what you are in need of. So, in seeking God, His kingdom, and having right-standing with Him, all the things the world worries about will be supplied by God to you, because you please Him. Worry, giving way to anxiety, about things that may never happen, never prospered a single soul. Amen.
