44. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;45. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.46. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47. And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:44-48 These are the words of Christ. All men are to be regarded with affection. Though, they are separated as brethren in Christ. Bless, them that curse you, do good to them that hate you. Pray for all who persecute, and use you. This is a hard thing, but Christ, showed us how it is to be done. That we show that we are God's children, by our love, one for another. This new thing jumped out at me this morning, God, calls it "His sun." This is the blessings of each new day, and the rain, that waters, His earth. Given to all. For the next verses, it cannot be done without the Spirit, for the ungodly will only love their own. But we are called to go above and beyond, our natural feelings, and to love as God, loves us. This word perfect, applied to God, means He is complete, finished, wanting nothing necessary to be made perfect. We have inherited this with Christ, all things in Christ, are available to us, we lack nothing. In the human sense, perfect, means, reaching a full age, mature, having attained, integrity and virtue, as we progress through our journey, we should be, maturing in Christ Jesus. Amen.
