If humans invented God, He wouldn’t sound anything like the God of the Bible.
Why would we invent a God who:
- Tells us to deny ourselves
- Commands sexual restraint instead of indulgence
- Warns the rich, humbles the powerful, and exalts the meek
- Condemns pride, greed, and lust—the very things humans crave
- Holds every human accountable, including kings and priests
- Demands repentance instead of affirmation
If humans were the ventriloquists, the “dummy” would say:
“Do whatever feels good.”
“Power is yours—take it.”
“You answer to no one.”
But the God of the Bible does the opposite. He confronts us. He restrains us. He judges us. He calls us sinners and tells us to change.
Human-made gods look like humans with superpowers.
The biblical God looks like someone humans didn’t invent—and often wish they could silence.
That’s not a puppet.
That’s a mirror we didn’t ask for. He’s the one who will hold you accountable on judgment day. Before you meet him, I recommend you read this.
