7. Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. Revelation 22:7 John sees the interior of the New Jerusalem, a pure river coming from the throne of God—a picture of God's pure and abundant provision. Symbols like trees, fruit, leaves, streets, and rivers are visual representations of health-giving elements, all given as part of the reward of eternal life. What shall we do in heaven? We shall serve the Lord with gladness and thanksgiving, having been saved from the lake of fire by the blood of Christ. Christ says, "He is coming quickly." This word, in Hebrew, means by surprise, suddenly. He who does not look at the target has little chance of hitting it. Those who eye everything but heaven have little chance of entering. Keeping your eyes on Jesus and what He has prepared for you, will help you walk on the narrow path, for without Christ, you will walk off into darkness and destruction. Christ is the Light of the World; all who walk in His steps are safe from destruction and shall share the reward of eternal life with other believers.
