On Christmas Eve, it’s worth remembering something extraordinary.
In 1914, in the middle of the mud, wire, and horror of the First World War, something very human happened. Guns fell silent. Enemies climbed out of trenches. Men who’d been told to hate one another shared cigarettes, sang carols, buried their dead, and for a brief moment remembered they were just people.
The Christmas Truce wasn’t ordered. It wasn’t political. It was instinct — proof that even in the darkest places, peace still knows how to find a voice.
So today, as we head into Christmas, let’s carry a bit of that spirit with us. Kindness over anger. Humanity over noise. Peace — even if it’s just in our own small corner of the world.
Wherever you are, whatever you’re facing, I hope today brings you a moment of calm, a spark of hope, and a reminder that peace on earth starts with us.
Have a gentle Christmas Eve ❤️🎄
