And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.Revelation 12:1 Revelation 12 is a symbolic story of the birth of Jesus, the struggle between good and evil, and the sure protection of every believer, reassuring us that Jehovah God Almighty is ultimately victorious over evil. The woman represents God's people. The child is a symbol of Jesus, who is destined to bring salvation and rule over the world. The dragon represents the evil forces of Satan, opposing God's plan. The dragon seeks to destroy Jesus and persecute the woman who represents the faithful community. Michael and his angels fight the dragon in heaven, ultimately defeating him. The dragon is cast down to Earth and continues to attack the faithful of God, but God provides care and safety for them. The woman flees into the wilderness, a symbol of God's protection of His people even in times of trials. Remember God is in control, Jesus is central to God's plan, evil will be defeated, God protects His people from harm. Amen.
