In a political stunt, Dem Rep Rashida Tlaib went to Northlake Detention Center in Michigan to tell ICE they will be held accountable:‌Hi everyone. It's Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. I'm here at Northlake Detention Center. It's in Baldwin, Michigan, which is a 3.5 hours outside of Detroit. We've gotten a number of complaints from family members, legal advocates, community members about the conditions of the facility. So I came here to do my job of oversight, and I'm here again to make sure that all of you know, that we're going to hold them accountable, and we're going to make sure the conditions are safe and that everyone's rights are protected.And I also was able to visit my 19 year old resident that got placed here all the way from the city of Detroit. Not only for him, but for many of our families. We're going to make sure we push back against ice, get them off our streets, and keep our families together.Source: X
