7. For many deceivers have entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.2 John 7. John the Apostle, whom Jesus loved, gives a warning. There are many who deny Christ and His doctrine, which was prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New. This is that Jesus is fully God and became a real man, fully divine and fully human. He lived among us sinless, died taking the punishment for every sin committed and yet to be committed. He was raised from death on the third day, and now sits at the right hand of God making continual intercession for His followers. Those who do not have Christ do not have the Almighty Father. John writes in verse 10, if anyone has another doctrine that is not of Christ, do not entertain them in your house, nor bid them Godspeed."Godspeed" is translated as "good luck," "may God prosper you," or "success in all you do." It's like telling Satan, "May you succeed in harming every Christian." John writes in verse 11, "For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds." Protect your inheritance in Christ. Amen.
