2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 1 John 4:2. John wants everyone to know that he was an eyewitness to Jesus being fully God and fully man. And that only the redeemed can say Jesus Christ is Lord of all. Anyone else is antichrist, denying Christ as coming from God in the form of a sinless man. This doctrine is simple: you're either all in, or you are out from under the protection of Christ's blood. These are not my words; they are repeated over and over in the Bible. There is no place in this world to receive forgiveness and pardon from sin; only Christ is able and willing. And the redeemed have Christ with them always, and Christ sits at the right hand of the Almighty, making intercession for us continually. As God loves us, so we should love other believers. And the Spirit of God testifies to us that the Almighty Father sent His Son to be Savior of the world. And only those who believe have God dwelling in them, and they in God. John says in verse 19, "We love him, because he first loved us." Christ proved His love in action by giving His life in our place, that we may be the children of God. Amen.
