1. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 1 John 1:1. John, being an eyewitness to Christ, having heard Christ talk, having seen Christ with his own eyes, and touched Christ with his own hands, writes to us so that our joy in Christ may be full. We have fellowship with other Christians when we believe Christ is the Son of God, coming from the Almighty Father and manifested to us. We are assured that Christ is the Light of the world, and there is no darkness in Him. If we walk with Christ, we are in His Light, and where there is His Light, no darkness can be. And walking in Christ's Light, we have turned from sin, and the blood of Jesus has cleansed us from all sin. All have sinned and fallen short of the reward of the Kingdom of God. But if we confess our sins, Christ is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Amen.
