𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐘 — 𝐀 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒 “𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐌 𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍” 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐌⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣A man converts to Islam, declares himself a “trans Muslim woman,” and proudly announces that being trans and Muslim “coexists perfectly.”⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣And then a real Muslim woman stepped in — and reality hit like a freight train.⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣𝘐’𝘮 𝘢 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯. 𝘐’𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘮. 𝘠𝘦𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵.⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵. 𝘎𝘰𝘥’𝘴 𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵, 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘨𝘰 𝘵𝘰 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴… 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵.⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣And that’s the whole story in one punchline.⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣Western activists: “Everything is valid! Everything is compatible! Identities can mix and match like Legos!”⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣Actual Muslim world: “Try it and see what happens.”⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣This isn’t Islam-phobia. It’s Islam as practiced in the real world — not the rainbow-filtered version cooked up in Portland coffee shops.⁠⁣⁠⁣⁠⁣So how does this story end?Reality always wins.
