A Democrat stole FEMA disaster money to fund her campaign… and they wonder why Americans don’t trust them. 🤯A sitting Democrat congresswoman has just been hit with one of the most jaw-dropping indictments we’ve seen in years. Federal prosecutors say Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick stole $5 million in FEMA disaster relief funds — money meant for crisis victims — and funneled it through friends and associates to fuel her own congressional campaign.Prosecutors say she and her brother routed the cash through layers of accounts to hide where it came from, then used it for donations to her 2021 race and for personal gain. The DOJ says the scheme involved straw donors, fraudulent transactions, and tens of thousands of payments tied to a FEMA-funded COVID contract. The numbers are staggering. The indictment claims 186,000 deceased individuals still receiving benefits, 691,000 fraudulent transactions, and millions laundered into political contributions. FBI Director Kash Patel said she “allegedly stole money from FEMA and then laundered it through friends toward her own personal benefits – including her campaign accounts.”If convicted, this Democrat faces 53 years in prison — and Republicans in Florida are calling for her resignation immediately. The GOP is also filing a motion to censure her and remove her from all committees, calling it “one of the most egregious abuses of public trust.”Cherfilus-McCormick was already under ethics investigation for campaign violations tied to her 2022 election. Now she’s accused of stealing disaster funds, breaking federal law, and hiding the money inside political donations.“Using disaster relief funds for self-enrichment is a particularly selfish, cynical crime,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi. And voters in Florida are already demanding answers.
