IF TRUMP IS FOR IT, THEY ARE AGAINST IT.
Cartoon published 11/19/2025
President Trump and Representative Marjorie Greene have been trading insults for days. Greene thinks she can win a US Senate seat from Georgia. Trump said she has no chance and won’t support her. Greene has called Trump a ‘traitor’ for his support of Israel. She also supported the bill that forced the release of the Epstein files, and for that Trump called her ‘whacky.’
Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie has been another thorn in Trump’s side. Massie has an independent streak and often votes against party lines. Massie opposes Trump’s foreign policy—especially the bombing of Iran. He was against the lavish spending found in Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill.” He vociferously called for the release of the Epstein files, and he dislikes Trump personally. Trump has returned that dislike and has hurled personal insults toward Massie. Regardless, Trump finally had enough and called for a Congressional vote to determine the release of the Epstein files. That vote was overwhelmingly in favor of the release. Unsurprisingly, Massie immediately became suspicious of Trump’s sudden change of mind regarding the files. Trump can’t win no matter what he does when it comes to Thomas Massie.
Rand Paul, a US Senator from Kentucky, has libertarian and contrarian streaks. When it came to ending the Schumer Shutdown, he voted NO. Paul has been a vocal opponent of big, wasteful government and apparently he preferred the shutdown. Paul also opposes Trump’s tariffs, his bombing of drug cartel boats, and has made it clear that he’s not Trump’s rubber stamp.
The release of the Epstein files may end up hurting the Democrats more than Trump. If there was information that disgraces Trump, Biden would have released it long ago. Meanwhile, we hear that Hakeem Jeffries asked Epstein for a campaign donation after he was convicted of sex crimes. Bill Clinton was a long-time friend of Epstein while Trump testified against him. Will the files be heavily redacted? Did Biden’s security agencies alter the files? Stay tuned.
Massie, Greene, and Paul are three Republican contrarian peas in a pod, and they are unlikely to go away. They will continue to challenge the president, and Trump’s insults won’t deter them. In fact, such invective only worsens the divide.
