Spicy Thai Crying Tiger Beef with Tangy Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon fish sauce
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons toasted rice powder
1 teaspoon chili flakes
2 shallots, thinly sliced
Handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
2 green onions, sliced
Fresh vegetables (such as cucumber and cabbage) for serving
1 recipe Nam Jim Jaew (Thai dipping sauce)
Directions:
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Marinate the beef slices in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat. Grill the beef until charred and cooked to desired doneness, about 2-3 minutes per side.
In a small bowl, mix toasted rice powder, chili flakes, shallots, cilantro, and green onions.
Serve the grilled beef with the herb and spice mixture sprinkled on top, accompanied by fresh vegetables and Nam Jim Jaew for dipping.
