I didn't read Joshua 1:9 on a coffee cup. I lived it.
Garbage man to full-time writer.
Premature grandson in NICU.
Bank account screaming quit. Family thinking I'm crazy.
Jesus kept me standing when every signal said fold.
That's my credential.
"Be strong and courageous" wasn't written for winners.
God told that to a man burying his mentor with enemy territory across the river. Joshua's feet still wet from the Jordan. Strength meant obedience when you wanted to run.
Paul told the Corinthians to act like men because the church was burning and they were standing there with marshmallows. Not permission to be jerks. Permission to stop being children.
Here's what nobody tells you:
Those verses aren't comfort food. They're orders issued in crisis.
You're tired? Beat up? Naked on your own mountain?
Good.
That's where God sorts the men building kingdoms from the boys playing church.
The difference shows up when nobody's watching:
Raising kids on truth when culture screams compromise. Loving your spouse when it costs you. Bible in one hand. Family in the other.
Which one are you today?
Not tomorrow. Not "someday." Right now. This morning.
Get up. Cross your river. Stand guard.
Not because it photographs well.
Because that's how kingdoms get built.
