Is America really collapsing?
A British officer saw the signs 50 years ago, and warned that empires usually follow a familiar pattern.
Strikingly, he claimed they only last ~250 years. America’s 250th is next year.
Here’s the pattern:
1. Pioneering
2. Conquest
3. Commerce
4. Affluence
5. Intellectualism
6. Decadence
Which of course leaves the question: where is the USA in this cycle today?
